It's been a fairly exciting week around here, starting last Friday. We finally decided to do something with our overgrown yard, but Rudy being too busy and me being off duty for heavy yardwork, we needed to hire someone. Despite the overgrowth, the tree trimmer/gardener was done in only half a day with 100% improvement as a result. I should have taken a "before" picture, but here's an "after" shot.

All this yardwork was done just in time for our housewarming party, which was held the following Saturday. It was a great way to visit with all our friends before the baby arrives, and we missed those who couldn't attend. As we suspected, the house tolerates large numbers of people very well, and we were glad to see everyone who could make it.

Some other news: I think we finally know whether baby Winnacker will be a boy or a girl. I had my 36-week checkup yesterday, in which they now routinely check (via sonogram) to make sure the baby is in the correct head-down position. And she was, of course. Notice that I can say "she" now - the doctor was kind enough to take a peek, and not seeing anything to the contrary, she is guessing that the baby is a girl. We won't be 100% sure until d-day, so don't buy anything pink!
