Victory is near!

We have a move-in date for our new home. I can clearly see the light at the end of the tunnel now, and I am excited about getting moved in and settled after months of drifting. Luckily, we have several friends who are going to help us move our belongings out of storage (but more help is always welcome!) and I am expecting my mom to come up and help me unpack my most important room - the kitchen!

Above is a recent picture of our house-to-be-in-two-weeks, which I've borrowed from my father-in-law's blog. It will be so nice to have our things back, as well as our two kitties to keep us company. Even the baby seems more excited, kicking and moving around more frequently and with greater vigor.

November quickly comes to a close, and I find that we are in the final stages of our "moving" process. Our house-sitting gig has ended, and we are currently staying at a residence hotel. We went to Hawaii after we completed our house-sitting duties, which was beautiful. (I have included photos throughout this post.) Then, we came back to a small hotel room, with very few amenities. That didn't last long, and I was able to find us a better hotel for the same amount of money (Hawthorn Suites - www.hawthorn.com). Apparently, this particular building is under renovation at the moment, so we are able to get the rooms for less than usual.

So, I have reached the halfway point in this pregnancy. I feel pretty good, aside from being unable to fit in any type of normal clothing and being a little off-balance. We both went to the sonogram appointment earlier in November (pictures posted below), and were amazed to see ten little fingers and ten little toes. The sonogram technology is also advanced enough to show the valves of the heart opening and closing with each heartbeat, the kidneys and other internal organs functioning, and the brain and spinal enclosures. Truly amazing!

Thanksgiving, which has also passed since my last post, was fun. We were able to see both families this year - Winnackers at an early Thanksgiving Saturday before last (complete with Mark and Hanako, who were visiting from the U.K.) and Stanberrys on Thanksgiving day itself in Hanford at my mother's house. The women on my side of the family even had a surprise baby-shower for me, which was very thoughtful. Now, I just need to find those Thank You cards...

Baby Winnacker - at 18 weeks gestation.
