I have a very good reason for the lack of posting for the last month. In mid-May, we put our house on the market and it's been chaos ever since. First, there was the anxiety and anticipation of cleaning and setting the stage for potential buyers. Next, there was the intrusion of our privacy as people traipsed through our home day and night. And finally, the disbelief as offer after offer came in on the house.

Within one week, we selected an offer and began the closing process. Currently, all contingencies have been lifted and all we have to do is pack up all of our belongings (they're headed for storage for six months until our new house is ready for us). We have less than 10 days, and only a few things done.

In the midst of all this life-changing stress, we've lost former President Reagan. Our nation (and many others outside our nation) mourns, and I've pondered throughout the past few days, in between times of getting teary-eyed, why the passing of Reagan is so significant. It's true that he hasn't been in office or the public service for many years, but I think that President Reagan symbolized all that a hero and a great leader should be. He stood his ground for what he believed was right. And I am afraid that there will not be more leaders of his character, moral fiber and perseverence.
